Afoxolaner is an insecticide and acaricide that belongs to the isoxazoline chemical compound group. It acts as an antagonist at GABA receptors (those gated by the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid) and other ligand-gated chloride channels. This compound belongs to the class of organic compounds known as naphthalenecarboxamides. These are compounds containing a naphthalene moiety, which bears a carboxylic acid amide group at one or more positions.
