Lamotrigine is chemically 6-(2,3-Dichlorophenyl)-1,2,4-triazine-3,5-diamine (as per EP) ; 1,2,4-Triazine-3,5-diamine, 6-(2,3-dichlorophenyl) (as per USP). It is also known as 3,5-Diamino-6-(2,3-dichlorophenyl)-as-triazine (USP). Lamotrigine is supplied with detailed characterization data compliant with regulatory guideline.
