Diethylstilbestrol,also known as stilbestrol or stilboestrol, is a nonsteroidal estrogen medication that is now rarely used. In the past, it was commonly prescribed for various purposes, including supporting pregnancies in individuals with a history of recurrent miscarriage, hormone therapy for menopausal symptoms and estrogen deficiency, and the treatment of prostate and breast cancer, among other indications.
