Tetracaine is chemically 2-(Dimethylamino)ethyl 4-(butylamino)benzoate (as per EP) ; Benzoic acid, 4-(butylamino)-, 2-(dimethylamino)ethyl ester hydrochloride (as per USP). It is also known as Amethocaine. Tetracaine is supplied with detailed characterization data compliant with regulatory guideline.
